COVID Update: Hospital ICU's slammed with vacancies!

There are so many people with either natural or vaccine immunity, that hospitals are becoming swamped with empty hospital beds. Intensive care unit capacities in major cities have dropped below 70%. This is deeply troubling because in normal times, hospitals strive for 85% capacity in order to remain profitable.

Janet Smith, an ICU nurse at Los Angeles General Hospital, has been overwhelmed with free time after being laid off work. "I'm exhausted! To kill time on Friday, I rode my bike from Manhattan Beach with my husband to Venice Beach. When it was time to ride back home, I told my husband that I just can't do this. I'm at my breaking point."

Politicians had hoped that a 4th wave of cases was coming. However, it appears as though the curve is already starting to flatten and go down. The small increase in new cases is the result of young and healthy people testing positive, but only becoming mildly ill and never needing hospitalization. The elderly and the unhealthy have already been vaccinated and this presents a problem for Democrats who want to continue pressing their knees against the necks of small businesses. Hopefully, hospital beds will start to fill up soon.
